I met up with these two in Cary to do a last minute maternity session (she was literally due the next week).  They started the session by warning me that they were pretty awkward and didn’t really know what to do.  I don’t think they look awkward at all, and it was a super fun session with a lot of laughter involved.  I love a couple with a sense of humor.. even when it is at their own expense!  Thanks for letting me document this time in your lives!  Now baby makes 3! I love when my friends have babies because I get to go snuggle them and smell their sweet newborn smell.. and it doesn’t even matter when they pee and poop all over everything like this little guy did.  He was so alert.. I’m pretty sure dad thought he wasn’t going ever going to go to sleep.. but, with a full belly and a little soothing magic, we finally got him to snooze.  Dad grew up on a farm in Michigan so we even got to incorporate one of the family crates! I made a 16×20 collage for mom showing all the upclose kissable parts and his birth info.. love the result! 🙂  Welcome to the world, Jackson!

When I was contacted by my college friend to take maternity and newborn pictures of their soon-to-be arrival, I was more than thrilled.. I love documenting the whole process.. from belly, to newborn, to baby, to one year..  But, let’s be real.. I was really excited because I was intersted to see what a red head + chinese baby would look like.. the quick answer? ADORABLE.  Miles was the BEST newborn I have had to date.. he slept pretty much the whole time, and only fussed once for hunger.  I am a little in love.. Just a widdle bit. 🙂

I was so happy to have the opportunity to photograph this very special family and their growing family.  I have been friends with the daddy for years, and I absolutely love his wife — they are perfect for each other!  They were keeping the sex of the baby a surprise from everyone, including themselves, so the shoot was very interesting to try and incorporate both possible names!  Needless to say, Baby “SuShe” ended up being a “SuHe” named Miles.  <3
